Amber Anderson and Jay Matson Bell are two of the six ceramists featured at Yvonne Pepin-Wakefield’s Art Studio, 3735 Klindt Drive, The Dalles.  A variety of clay works will be for sale inside the gallery and along The Riverfront Trail, Saturday July 1, 11-1 p.m.

The Dalles Art Center is set to host a captivating exhibition featuring the works of renowned landscape painters Myrna Anderson and Charlene Rivers. The exhibition, which explores the mid-Columbia region, promises to be a visual feast for art enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. The opening night reception will take place on Thursday, July 6th from 5 to 7 p.m., with the show running through Saturday, July 29th.

In Across the Spider-Verse we follow in almost equal measure Miles Morales (Spider-Man) and Gwen Stacy (Spider-Woman) as they try to navigate being teenagers, superheroes, and interdimensional travelers. Their relationship is the thread that binds this narrative together, despite the wild and disparate places it goes. It’s a lot. And it’s a blast.

The Bargeway Pub is priming the pump as they bring Texas Trio Powell Brothers to the stage on Saturday. Jim Drake also jumps into music fest previews in Mosier, Trout Lake, and Arlington while also dishing on the lineups for all the local venues Gorge-wide. Check it all out here.

Serious Theater is presenting New York opera singer Anna Viemeister and baritone Jeremy Griffin in a special concert on Sunday, June 18th at 2:00 P.M. at the Zion Lutheran Church in The Dalles (10th and Union). The program features Songs of Robert Schumann: Frauenliebe und leben, Op.42 and Dichterliebe, Op. 48.

Eli Howard returns to The Dalles tonight, May 31 at the Bargeway Pub, kicking off a week of fun and entertainment, including Blitzen Trapper at The Ruins on Sunday, June 4. Jim Drake also gives us the rundown on Gorge Blues and Brews Fest in Stevenson starting June 24.

Hit Machine Acoustic Duo is on tap at the Bargeway Pub tonight, May 17 starting at 6 p.m., and then pick any venue you want - there is a lot going on. Drum Circles, Comedians, Film even the bouzouki duo Murray and Magill at Herbring House in TD on Sunday, May 21. Check-in, pick and win. Oh, bouzouki? Right. It’s a stringed Greek instrument in the lute family. But not the Lutefisk family! Never. I wouldn’t lye.

Writer/director James Gunn understands what makes these kinds of comic book stories compelling and what gives them stakes: a group of misfits comes together to form a kind of family, where each member is stronger together, and their concern for each other is their strength. They’re kind of losers, and that’s great!

Director Lee Cronin, a relative newcomer on the horror scene, ably directs the film, which pays homage not only to Raimi’s frenetic camera movements but to other classic horror films as well, including an incredible homage to The Shining.

Sally Johnson comes to The Dalles Arts Center with 12+ years of managing programs, teams, and departments at for-profit and non-profit organizations. Most recently, she was the Director of Business Development for the non-profit organization, Oxbow Farm & Conservation in Carnation, WA.
